Making Eggs from "Aliens"

Michael Corrie Has been in charge of the archiving and cataloging of Earl Hays Press, the oldest prop house in Hollywood.
He focused on the research and recovery of film ephemera.
Opening in 1915, The Earl Hays Press was founded by none other than Earl Hays himself in Hollywood, California, creating a legacy within the motion picture industry that has succeeded for over a hundred years. In the 1980s, they moved to Sun Valley, California and are now a third generation family-owned business.
Carrying more than 25,000 stock printed items available to the movie industry on request, they specialize in both modern and period items, including license plates, newspapers, books, driver’s licenses, passports, credit cards, product packaging, and so much more.
Michael Corrie is an Archivist and does Authentication work for Warner Brothers Archive Los Angeles. He also does researching at the behest of Warner Archives the pieces held within the collections of Warner Brothers. The Warner Brothers Archive Collection consists of props from theatrical films, television shows, and television films from the libraries of Warner Bros. Pictures, Turner Entertainment Co., HBO, and many more.


Michael Corrie works as an instructor for the UCLA Rare Book Department, where he teaches a class every year at UCLA about how books are used in film. From fake covers to custom made pieces, Mike shares items and stories behind some of the screen’s various uses of literature for the screen.
